Last weekend at the invitation of Italian colleagues to visit the city of Pescara stayed MP and Mayor of the City of Komiža, Vis Tonka Ivčević and city councilor in the City Council of the City of Komiža Pjerino Ivčević. Delegation: Komiža in Italy was received with great interest and I received was organized at a high level. Komiža received the Mayor of Pescara Luiggi Albori Mascia, and the leaders of the Chamber of Commerce and Becca Daniel Bruno Santori.

This visit is born from the desire to get as soon as possible to improve transport links between Pescara and the island, but still, the island and the Croatian mainland, given the importance of this connection is to the economic and infrastructural development of the two banks in the light of the forthcoming Croatian accession to the European Union.
In this context, the Italians have expressed their desire that the city of Pescara its assets buys a catamaran to maintain a constant connection between Pescara - Komiža - Hvar - Split. For Komiža this boat connection is extremely important, because it would allow regular Italian tourists coming to our island. And that Italians really do mean it, showing their interest to go immediately to purchase boats, which would already this season sailed on this route.
When they were staying in Pescara, leaders of Komiža, Vis also visited the Italian town of Lanciano, where they were also greeted very warmly and with great interest in cultural exchange.
Specifically, in Lanciano launched a project called "ancient paths: the cultural identity of the Adriatic", they want to renew cultural ties between our two coasts. The Italians are particularly interested in our project to rebuild gajetas falkušas, where they want to meet Komiža experience in the restoration of this traditional fishing boat, and have other projects that could connect to the cultural life of our two cities.
