A new contender has arrived on Croatia’s festival scene

If you are into music and music festivals, here are some great news for you, especially if you are spending your summer holidays in Croatia.

"A new music festival from the creators of Hideout, The Warehouse Project and Field Day will take place in Rovinj, North Croatia from September 10-14, 2013.

Performing live will be Jessie Ware, TEED, Mercury Music prize nominees Django Django, Four Tet, and Disclosure,  who are currently enjoying their first UK chart breakthrough with their single White Noise.  DJ sets will be provided by Cyril Hahn, SBTRKT, Damian Lazarus, Julio Bashmore, Jamie XX, Erol Alkan, Joy Orbison and US house don Kerri Chandler.

The organizers say they will create something not yet achieved in Croatia: they will provide live music alongside mysterious art installations, courtesy of Mad Ferret productions.  Hidden within the site, which is formed of three stages, a forest, and a beach, will also be secret venues where you will find artists providing impromptu sets. Charming Rovinj is situated on the Croatian peninsula Istria and  is a four hour ferry journey from Venice, so there’s plenty of exploring to be done for those who wish to stay on after the festival.

Unknown’s promoters are responsible for some of today’s most impressive dance events: Hideout  was one of Croatia´s earliest festivals, The Warehouse Project has been running in Manchester since 2006 and Field Day is one of London´s most popular day festivals.
